Thirty-six young children from several primary schools and churches joined our long-awaited “Pedals, Pipes & Pizza” on 21st June 2025 at SKH Tang Shiu Kin Secondary School Chapel, where C.B. Fisk’s Op. 149 is housed. Almost all attendees have never seen a real pipe organ in person. Assisted by C.B. Fisk’s very own Nami Hamada and Bonnie Walker, these young children managed to peek inside the organ and trying out their favourite repertoire on the organ. These young people were also introduced to the mechanical aspects of the organ, famous organ composers and their stories, and the colourful organ sounds through a mini repertoire showcase.
A luncheon with cheesy pizzas was indeed satisfying and perhaps provided the brain power for the upcoming “quiz” session. Needless to say, the room was filled with lots of giggles and gasps, especially when portion of the “quiz” involved creating a new portrait of J.S. Bach!!!
The day ended with the presentation of prizes (from the quiz) and certificates. We also took a beautiful group photo before everyone dispersed…
