I would like to welcome and thank the 20 new young members who joined the Hong Kong Chapter in the last year. You have helped us win the prize of US$1,000 in the Year of the Young Organists initiative set out by the Headquarters. We came first in the small chapters category.
While the Executive Committee is working on organizing events for the coming season, we would like to “meet” with you all (both new and returning, young and not-as-young members) in a zoom gathering. It is just for social purposes. We sincerely hope that you would join us on this occasion, and for our upcoming in-person events.
Looking forward: Saturday, October 1, 2022, 9:30 pm
As part of the Year of the Young Organist initiative, the worldwide network of AGO held a contest for which chapters attracted the most new young organist members. Our Hong Kong chapter came first in the small size chapter category, with 20 new young members joining this year.
This influx of young organists is surely encouraging, not only to us as part of the AGO, but to the wider organ playing scene in Hong Kong as well. Here’s to a bright future to the King of Instruments in the city of Hong Kong.
